The two of them are very obviously important to Toby; his knight has made
that clear given how often she has come after both of them when they were
in trouble. But he can't pretend away the fact that they are also who they
are -- the future King of Dreaming Cats and the future High King of the
Westlands. Even if they're both still only heirs to those titles, there's
no denying the value that certain people could see in that.
And the last thing he wants is to be the reason that Raj got caught up in
all this.
Ransom could be tricky, but it could be a motive. Mostly everything is
questions with no answers. But at least they have supplies. At least
they'll be able to survive for now.
