When his vision cooperates and does focus, he finds himself looking at a human he doesn't know. ...a shirtless human who is surprisingly attractive. That detail isn't important and Lio internally chastises himself to focus. It must be the blood loss. That's the only explanation.

He stiffens as this man approaches, shifting back in the bed towards the wall, like a wild creature withdrawing, but not to retreat, to prepare to fight his way out. But no, that isn't right, is it? This person -- this mage given he can feel that building magic -- rescued him. Slowly, some of the tension eases out of him and he looks less poised to go for Galo's throat.

Looking down at himself, he sets a hand against his chest. "You rescued me." He says it as a statement, but he sounds bewildered by it. Why? Even if this man doesn't know what he is, to pour that much magic into saving a stranger... Lio is well aware not everyone would make that choice. At least for now what he is seems to be safe, which he's grateful for. Humans don't need to know that dragons can take human shape and walk among them. The only real telltale signs are the delicate lines of iridescent scales in magenta and bluish green that take the shape of wings over most of his back and that climb in delicate arcs up the back of his neck, like elaborate tattoos.

Not all that different from the tattoos that mark the man in front of him, and Lio will have to blame blood loss once more for the reason he lifts his hand and reaches out to touch one of the whorls on Galo's chest.

"You're a healer. How long have I been asleep?"
