Lio's eyes narrow at that, but he looks away. He's been called out. Yes, Galo is a healer, but he's still human. And humans lie. Humans hate and turn on what is different from them. Not that dragons are perfect; he knows there are those among his kind who are cruel and dishonest and terrible people. At least among dragons he doesn't have to worry about being hated simply for what he is.
Then Galo surprises by that next admission and Lio looks back to him, visibly startled. This human keeps on surprising him.
He considers the compromise and nods. "I don't like things that dull my senses. If I need to fight or run, I need to be able to fight and run. I can deal with pain. I'm used to it. I'm not used to being helpless."
