The first sign something is off is the Alpha's body language. He moves quietly and with confident strides but his expression doesn't match it. Shiro sips his coffee to hide a growing concern forming in his mind. His wolf usually an observer sits up and watches.
"You did." He agrees as he sets his drink down and meets his eyes again. The wolf he had seen looking back at him from those eyes still isn't there. "You caught me just as I was going off shift." He takes another sip. He's the only wolf in their pack that can take on an unknown alpha. Better to be the target if it comes to that.
But his gut says it won't. "You look better than you did last night." It's not entirely true. He looks less like he's made of moonlight and shadow. A man instead of a wild creature. "...Call me Shiro."
